There are legitimate concerns & questions about commitments Republican leaders have made today. I share those concerns, and I am going to be watching Republican leaders’ actions over the coming weeks, not just their words—and I stand ready to hold them accountable for results.

I know you're ready and thank you, but McConnell has already stolen a SCOTUS seat, blocked numerous votes etc. neither he and trump can be trusted and I fear this will not end well. Congress really needs to work together, bypass POTUS and preserve our democracy. And NO WALL.

How can you hold them accountable? What can the dems do to make sure these promises are kept? I don’t like the shutdown, but I have no reason to believe they will do as they say. Will we be here again in 3 weeks? Thank you, senator Murray, but I am concerned...

Now that I have calmed down and accepted that the decision made today was the only choice going forward...They still dont have the health centers to take the kids to and Democrats are in need of a marketing campaign for our messages.

100%. My first thought (I've calmed down quite a bit after thinking) was 'oh my goodness, they've screwed up mid-terms'. I don't think this will (because the
#GOP has shown they can't govern) but DC Dems need to show voters that it will be different if we get a Dem majority!
