For years, e-cigarette brands, like Juul, have appealed to kids through flavors like mint, menthol, & crème brulee, & campaigns with influencer personalities. Today, the data shows 1 in 4 high school students and 1 in 10 middle school students use e-cigarettes.

Families are counting on Congress to act quickly and address the rising crisis of youth tobacco use & the outbreak of vaping related illness. I will keep pushing for action on e-cigarettes & vaping and common sense steps to keep our kids safe.

Respectfully, the MOST effective way to "keep our kids safe" is with adequate education, parenting, and prevention through ENFORCEMENT. We cannot call ourselves a "free country" if we go around banning everything adults depend on because children MAY decide to experiment.

Also, stop playing politics with peoples lives and skewing data. 5.7% of youth vape regularly 1/4 have TRIED vape in last 30 days. Be transparent on the data not knowingly deceptive. Care to compare the data to alcohol usage? Deaths from alcohol & regular usage?

I disagree with influencer marketing on social media. However, this problem will NOT be solved by banning products or adult-access. This bill WILL have DETRIMENTAL unintended consequences for adults, and will ONLY exacerbate the youth problem by way of strengthened illicit trade.

Here is what the 2019 NYTS survey found: US high school vaping 5.9% use daily 9.4% use >20 days/month Teens should not vape or drink. But 13.5% of them binge drink, causing 4,300 deaths every year. Why are you more alarmed about vaping?

Juul is Big T, not the true vape industry. Kids are sucking on Juul pods for the buzz, flavors are just a novelty to them. The true vape industry enforces age laws and works to keep ADULT ex-smokers off combustible cigs. Flavors are crucial to quit smoking because (1/2)
