Not true. They fill a void for those not wanting or needing things like lactation care or maternity etc. some just want basic coverage. Obamacare too expensive and limited providers. That’s why Dems look to replace it with bad Medicare for all.
The Trump Admin is incentivizing states to promote junk insurance plans that would:
increase health care costs
empower insurance companies to discriminate against patients with pre-ex conditions
promote care that doesn't cover essential benefits like mental health care
