Today is the Senate committee hearing for Trump’s Sec. of Labor nominee, Eugene Scalia. The committee was given insufficient time to thoroughly vet Scalia’s extensive record &find any sign he would fight for workers. He would be nothing more than a #SecretaryofCorporateInterests.
President Trump has repeatedly thrown working families under the bus to help corporations, billionaires, & the powerfully connected get even further ahead. Eugene Scalia’s record gives me every reason to believe he would support Trump’s anti-worker agenda at the Dept of Labor.
Eugene Scalia’s record includes:
fighting against workers’ health & safety measures
helping corporations steal workers’ tips & avoid paying overtime wages
restricting whistleblower protections
defending workplace discrimination
By nominating Eugene Scalia to be Secretary of Labor, the Trump Administration has once again sided with corporations over workers.
