Proud to support @SenBooker & @JacksonLeeTX18's legislation to study reparation proposals for African-American descendants of slavery. This bill is an important first step toward correcting some of the enduring economic and social injustices facing so many people in our country.
We must recognize the full scope of our nation's history and its consequences in the present—and that means confronting the stark reality that many of our core policies and institutions perpetuate the bigotry and injustice toward African-Americans that began with slavery.
We aspire to be a nation in which every person is able to pursue their dreams with equal opportunity to achieve them, and I am confident this legislation to create a commission to study reparation proposals will take us closer to this essential goal.
How do you decide who pays, and who gets paid? I'm Puerto Rican, and of mixed race descent. Do I pay myself? Does someone whiter than me owe me money? Do I owe someone else money?
“Reparations” have already been dispensed in the form of “Affirmative Action”. How well did that work out by skewing “equal opportunity” into “equal outcomes”? Contributed to interracial divisiveness?

We should also give California back to Mexico. Your state is British territory. Of course all of North America belongs to the indigenous tribes. The government bought them out with silly promises too.
