My dentist is 6 miles from my home but is considered out of network! It's insane, I want to have my doctors and healthcare staff where I live not travel 15 miles to be "in network" (I live in your district!)

Do we really need a law that requires consumers to understand their policy limitations to avoid “surprises” or are putting more on the backs (higher cost) of provider offices to know the nuances of insurance plans? Nice thought but people need to be responsible for choices.

Patients should be putting these unexpected/unauthorized charges back on the facility/office that ordered them without approval. Facilities will try charging patients for these even when it goes against their contracts. Know your plan and how to recognize improper charges.
