Congress passed the 21st Century Cures Act to make sure vital data isn't blocked by unnecessary, unreasonable barriers: when health IT systems can’t speak with each other, & people can’t speak up about the problems they see, it’s patients who get hurt.

We are living in 2019—patients should be able to easily access their information online without having to struggle with massive binders, unreadable PDFs, & stacks of CDs. The HELP Committee must work to make sure that transition is safe and secure.

It also opens up digital hospital records to be incorrect and corrupted. What about all the humans that typed up Medical Transcription reports and caught doctor errors, like my wife has for over 30 years. Now she is being laid off from Seattle Children's Hospital very soon.
