We've heard two behaviors point to guilt: overblown ranting and silence. I'll be looking at the silent ones who slink away from the vote. They might not be guilty of violence but they should know their inaction is taken as such.
The House passed a renewal of the Violence Against Women's Act with important protections that I hope we have the opportunity to vote for in the Senate. What good is this if it has to be renewed yearly? Why can’t this be good for 10 years at a time or better yet permanent? And what about honor killings where women are threatened by their family members for because the women’s action is perceived to have dishonored her family?
