Most children in college don't belong there. They are wasting time and resources, cheating, interrupting real scholars, and creating Huge Carbon Footprint's. The take away from the young adults that deserve to be there. Adults can plan and take care of debt, not children.

Go to a 2 year college 1st, earn their AA, and then to a State run University. It won't cost as much.

Why on earth should my tax money pay to foregive someone college debt? My parents couldn’t afford a university, I went to community college and found a great career where a huge fancy degree wasn’t needed to make a decent living wage.
