My fear is that this would result in students taking on student debt but then not being able to afford to continue their schooling and graduate. Getting saddled with educational debt and not getting a degree is a recipe for economic disaster for these young people!

As someone with a child who graduated in December and another who will be done in June, and who works with college students daily, the amount of aid available does not meet the expenses of college.

You should support it. Hopefully it will force some hands and reign in the ridiculous cost. Or perhaps dems can come to the rescue and pass a bill to cover the difference.

Makes sense to me and millions of others, not everyone gets to be an astronaut, and that doctorate in underwater basket weaving does not pay off the students loans after graduating.

Almost everyone can get some sort of fed aid, regardless of income. That’s nuts. Rework the system to make grants not loans to neediest. Save $$$ on bureaucracy and collecting loan repayments.

The only thing this administration knows is destroying things.

As long as the students keep getting loans to pay for the outrageous cost of higher education, the costs will go up and the students will have more debt! If the cost for an education is limited by the affordability, the costs will hopefully go down. Schools need to be helping!
