One thing needed is an acknowledgement that this is not just impacting white people.
In my majority black city, the 5th largest in the US, #OpioidCrisis has hit the black and Latino communities even harder. Attention to these victims is an essential part of awareness.
Despite the Trump Administration’s inaction, I’m glad Congress has taken bipartisan steps to address the opioid epidemic, including two major pieces of legislation and an increase of $2.6 billion in new resources to combat opioid misuse disorder. There is much more to do.

I wish these people would meet with chronic pain patients to see the torture they are doing to us. Unfortunately we don’t fit their agenda and only want to help when it’s election time.

The impact of
#opioids and then the switch to heroin & fentanyl is more likely to impact black people because traditionally & statistically medical personnel treat black patient's pain less well.
