On par? Classroom teachers spend more than class time on their job. Before and after school prep. time, correcting papers, meeting with parents and counselors, and taking classes. Hardly seems the same.

Why is this a federal issue? It seems state and local government should handle this in a federalist system, not far away kniw nothing beltway insides in DC. If it is such good policy, it will be enacted locally or by state. Seems like a special interest teacher's union pitch.
