Millions of people nationwide suffer from pain that persists for weeks or years and can interfere with their work and daily life activities. We must ensure opioids are used responsibly, while ensuring access for those experiencing pain who need them.

My Senators from CA send me form letters when I reach out to them, often the the form letters are even off topic. My Governor's office hangs up on me. We're DYING out here. #opioidhysteriahttp://nationalpainreport.com/this-is-a-cry-for-help-8836857.html …

Unless you own like Walmart and send millions of lobby money their way they’ll never listen. George Carlin said it right. Me and you just ain’t part of the club.

Thank you Senator @PattyMurray for recognizing that we must ensure access to Opioid medication for people that truly need and benefit from it. Chronic Pain Patients have become collateral damage as result of the restrictions on opioids prescribing.

Thanks for RT as I would not have seen her T otherwise. This is the first time I've read her speaking of what it's like for us and that government should back off and let us live again.

@PattyMurray, thank you! We've been out here desperately hoping one of our elected would hear us. We're millions following the ever changing rules to get treatment for our unrelenting, life affecting, often untreatable pain. We're one group among many in the anti-opioid crisis.pic.twitter.com/OKI2V0E4NO

I had almost given up. Today I began getting Twitter political attacks for some reason. I hope this message goes to her with our great optimism-that one in Congress can hear our pleas. The Hearings on Capitol Hill help, but we can't wait for help any longer. Pain Mgmt is dying.

We should also make sure that medical cannabis is available to every patient in the United States who might need it too. Not only is it a safer option than opioids, marijuana enhances the efficiency of opioids, allowing patients to use less.

While MMJ does help many people it is NOT a replacement for opioids, there are millions suffering & thousands committing suicide due to not being able to access opioids for their incurable illness. MMJ does not treat everything & is dangerous to be pushed as a replacement.

Thank you Senator Murray! I am a disabled American living in Washington state who experiences constant and debilitating pain. It is refreshing to hear one of our law makers finally making sense and having some compassion. I am not a drug addict nor am I a criminal!

Patients are suffering with the never ending moving of the goal posts of regs, laws, guidelines, etc. that HONEST LAW ABIDING pain patients & docs are trying to follow. Many are legally classified disabled. We don't want to file endless DOJ ADA lawsuits. We just want help!pic.twitter.com/tHbW56Yykk
