The Trump administration's rationale for deploying active duty troops was to evoke fear & doesn't serve a national security purpose. Continuing to rely on active duty troops militarizes the border & normalizes their deployment domestically—a dangerous precedent for any democracy.
The administration has presented no evidence to suggest asylum seekers pose a national security threat; there has been no justification for why the deployment was extended and the rules of use of force expanded, or why active duty troops were sent at all.
No threat to the America? 1:They stormed all borders and broke immigration/Asylum laws getting here. 2:Attacked border patrols at America's borders. They broke laws before they got to America. Will they keep our laws if they get in? US troops take an oath to protect America.
