I couldn't agree with you more, Senator. Perhaps someone (hint-hint) can nudge my own Senator @SenThomTillis to approach this process with the same open mind. He seems to have rushed to approval despite calls for a more thorough review from many of his constituents.
We must listen to Professor Ford. We must treat this survivor with empathy. We must evaluate this new information. Anything less for a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court would be an abdication of the Senate’s constitutional role and it would be absolutely wrong.

As has been mentioned, there are other reasons to question Kavanaugh's integrity. What about perjury, vanishing gambling debts, dancing around questions, etc.? This is just one of many reasons to conduct an investigation and hold off on his review.

I’d hope that dem committee members yield their hearing time to the professional prosecutors on the committee. We have no need for another political circus; tight prosecutorial questioning of Mr Kavenaugh would be much more informative.
