Right now, parents across the country are looking at their own children, and their own grandchildren and putting themselves in the shoes of our fellow humans and asking: Is this who we truly are as a nation? Are these our American values?

Yea, they're remembering them when they were new borns and are trying to wonder why somebody in this country would think it is even remotely OK to kill them just after being born.

My youngest has night terrors. When he sobs and screams at night, he's saying "where's my mommy? I want my mommy". This is a child's biggest fear. Every time he does this, I imagine him alone and afraid and I cry with him until he wakes. No kid should feel this.
