Bernie is both the most popular politician in America and actually means the things he says! It's incredible to see the left passing on the best opportunity they've had to return to a true New Deal style of politics.

The odd thing about asserting that after a mere month AOC has replaced Sanders as "leader" of a movement implies that Sanders didn't have much of a grip on it anyway. AOC may or not advance socialism but that's something only time tells.
-
it’s not that he didn’t have a grip. it’s more that the constituency of the movement’s supporters is made up of fleeting idiots. not his fault. there’s a sect that still values Bernie while recognizing the likelihood that AOC’s moment at the helm is ephemeral

The fact AOC is dumber-than-a-box-of-rocks isn't helping either. She exudes the image of a naive, unworldly teenager walking the halls of congress.

Her birthday is October 13, 1989. That makes her 35 by the 2024 election.

I don't know if Bernie losing some spot light to someone who is arguably going to commanding attention for a very long time, is young and attractive, and is probably going to be the most followed Member of Congress on social media is a bad outcome for Democratic Socialists.
-
Right but if this about electing a leftwing President in 2020 with a Democratic Congress seems like a missed opportunity
