I so glad that I took the weekend to do this. I did it for political reasons, obviously, the stakes feel enormous. I also did it for personal reasons. I grew up in Iowa, and my mom passed six years ago and I know she would have been active

I tried to canvas in the town where she lived, but got moved to Monticello. Went around dirt roads and gravel streets. Talked to Trump people, a Biden supporter, Warren people, Bernie people. I tried to be generous and a good representative of my candidate.

And there were thousands of people doing the same, trying to do the same. So many people who believe that this country can be better, and that it needs to be better, for them and for others.
