Crime is down since he's taken office. Takes a big man to go with the "sins of the father" narrative though.https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/06/14/bogus-backlash-against-progressive-prosecutors/ …7 replies 0 retweets 22 likes -

Burglary and theft are way up and gascon was almost as bad boudin. Not sure how you can look at what this guy did and his criminal history and think he should be on the streets

Not enforcing the law =/= crime is down. You stopped arresting people and taking reports from victims to fudge the numbers. The crimes are still occurring, you're just ignoring them.

You're thinking of SFPD. They're the ones who have decided to stop investigating crime.https://missionlocal.org/2021/05/an-excelsior-woman-was-attacked-with-a-knife-the-sfpd-discouraged-her-from-reporting-it/ …

SFPD like any policing agency won't waste their time arresting people if the have nobody that will prosecute the crime. It becomes an exercise in futility and places them in dangerous situations. They are reacting to the cards they are dealt.

No. SFPD has a mandate, and the mandate is to investigate crimes. They are not intended to be a political organization, they aren't paid to speculate about the future or express political opinions. If they don't like fighting crime hard all the time, they're free to quit.

Yeah, you're right. It's the street level police to blame. They just aren't working hard enough. If they only investigated more and made more arrests they would get more convictions.
#Chesa supports them 100%.#SFPD IS SO LAZY.#GTFOH1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
When I say "SFPD" I'm talking about the institution. The employees of the City and County of San Francisco tasked with investigating crimes to ensure public safety. That's from what you're calling street level cops all the way to the chief of police. The whole institution.
