@Stblancke, but we are not among the elect this time. :-) This is actually the point we were taking issue with: is it possible to neatly separate the psychological explanations of beliefs from their truth value? /1 -
This, of course, parallels the debate in CSR. Many scholars want to remain agnostic about the truth value of religious claims. But suppose the God of Christianity really did exist. Would our explanation or the emergence & spread of Christianity not look radically different? /2
