no, i don't plan to sue or punish anybody for not renting me their room... that goes directly against my values. nobody should be forced to provide services or open their home to people who make them feel unsafe please stop harassing these guys w legal threats! that's not freedom

Soooo dramatic! This wasn't an apartment rejection. It was a rejection to be a roommate in a private home.
#BigDifference -
I'm not seeing the distinction. Renting is always exchanging money for a domicile, which is privately owned. Doesn't matter whether it's privately owned by an individual or a company, it's still private property. Bake that cake.
-
The distinction is that the people were looking for a roommate to rent a room inside their home, not to rent an apartment in their building. I love cake.

Well- it looks like a Civil Rights Violation to me!
-
Yes, sure, and we know the Left can shame bakeries into baking that cake. But the thing is: you sue and you win. Yay! You get to live with these Leftists. You want that? Or do you want to sue and lose your shirt just to have them declare bankruptcy and not pay you a cent? Ick.

If we don't make a stand somewhere, they will destroy everything.

So a Christian who holds a religious objection to gay marriage can be sued into oblivion for not participating in the marriage ceremony, but liberals can choose to discriminate against you by denying housing simply because of politics?
-
She's not being denied housing. They do not want her as a roommate. Two completely different things. If she wanted to go rent a place on her own, she could. But she prefers to try to gain sympathy and get people to donate money to her instead.

It’s almost as if actions have consequences

Soooo - that must mean you’re ok with rejecting people who work for any media company that the landlord doesn’t like? You may not want to open that door, especially if the person is female and a minority.
-
As if that door hasn’t been open this whole time
