These cells make it tough to stay focused on image analysis (...and not just make & stare at videos on loop). A microglia tends its myelin garden 🌱😍

This sounds interesting. Functional and morphological subtypes of basket cell pinceaux in cerebellar cortex? "Purkinje cell neurotransmission patterns cerebellar basket cells into zonal modules that are defined by distinct pinceau sizes"

I feel like this is a possible strategy, especially when you don't expect to have reliable access to feedback? A one-shot attempt at forming an accurate belief, if you will.

Might you even feel prompted to get on the other side of a belief so that when you get feedback you can judge the relative distance of expected outcomes to the actual outcome relative to your previously held extreme beliefs?

Is it always better to update your bayesian weighting of beliefs in the most extreme degree when your belief immediately informs a decision you're making? e.g. should you always assume that your observation of evidence is completely reliable when that evidence prompts a reaction?

Our new manuscript is out! Theta phase-modulated amplitude of beta and gamma oscillations in the olfactory bulb can be used to discriminate between odorants after learning but not before. All data were deposited to GigaDB!!,

It's out! Please enjoy reading this paper from the wonderful that I helped a little with. It's very interesting to see how top-down control might reduce ambiguity in sensory representation.

IVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS. It is immediately obvious why it would be advantageous to be able to SEQUENCE ANOTHER ORGANISM IN ORDER TO IDENTIFY IT, BUT THE FACT THAT THEY REALLY DO IT IS WORTHY OF ALL THE ALLCAPS IN MY KEYBOARD

Do you write data science code? Are you writing tests? Check out this talk from -- slides are in the thread and they just made me realize what pre-conditions I should put in a function

We are thrilled! Mae's manuscript is out describing a novel fast-spiking SST+ interneuron in the BLA which is specifically recruited by LEC input suggesting a unique mechanism that might gate plasticity in BLA! . Cool collaboration with Molly Huntsman!
