Y'all don't use a card for everything? The only respectable people who use singles to pay for anything are strippers, and even then most bank them first.

John are you okay over there do you need a card license
-
I have a card but still use cash for small purchases
-
So that bank statements aren't too long, easier to check them over, some small food vendors etc don't takd cards, some convenience stores charge if the purchase is below a certain amount as well

1/ When I left the UK I had jars of coins, like a drawer or two with lots of loose coins etc, coins on the floors etc .... I needed a suitcase to take them to one of the supermarkets that had a coin-counter machine where they would cash you out...
-
2/ At around 1000 pounds the supermarket ran out of cash, causing all kinds of ruckus, and they made me stop feeding coins in ... I then took my suitcase to a bank, and they made me count them into rolling tubes myself... in the end, I had around 2500 GBP worth in total!

3/ ...As you can imagine this is more a demonstration of my poor organisational skills than anything else... / fin

Did you live in the UK for a period then?
-
Yep, I did, in London. I had a great time there.
-
Ah that's nice. yeah that's an extreme example but it's a common problem, don't know if anywhere else in the world has currency like this
-
Nowhere does I’m fairly sure of that.
-
Australia has had $2 coins since the 80s, NZ since 1990. The Aussie one is little chunky thing, I like it. You end up carrying way more cash in your pocket than you realize.

"My coin pouch has broken, and the butter knife holster's come undone" Freakin' Brits, I swear. Think I just figured it out... the American diaspora selected for the renegade Anglo genes, so we're all packing, and carrying notes JUST TO BURN.

If all your coins would be round and not in different shapes it would help too.

Be careful, Britain is also known for the undue and disproportional power of its sinister wallet lobbypic.twitter.com/KfdXdgzXR6
