Does that mean it sees social structures themselves as being replicative units? that seems potentially vague, if it's still operating on genes then the genes are several levels down from the social structures, or is it memes or something else?

Whichever replicators Dawkins talks about.
-
skip the smugness, we've all read Dawkins here. what's your point?
-
The selfish gene theory is BS.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3060581/ …

"Inheritance is not through DNA sequences alone." this seems like a rather extraordinary claim.
-
anyway, your point is that networks of genes collaborate more often than not, increasing their fitness?
-
The point is that there is no privileged level of causation. Privileging one system over another doesn't make sense. There is no a priori justification.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3262309/ …
