Hellcomunism: Apparently, the belief that preventing total collapse of your own fucking planet is a good goal. Alternately, a distaste for shoe leather, even when those shoes are worn by Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos.https://twitter.com/ParadiseDelayed/status/1004960190796566528 …
I was implying by it the use of the supposed threat of destruction to leverage leftist political goals, combined with inevitable hostility to genuine forms of exit. I don't quite follow you on the shoe leather bit btw?

It's not a genuine form of exit. At best, a few people will make it to a barren planet, with no ecosystem to support them, while the rest of us perish. If you still call anthro climate change a "supposed threat," you live in a fantasy world.

The solar system doesn't exist to gratify the egos of a few rich sociopaths who made their $$$ off exploitation, inheritance and investment. We already give them far too much power. They (and their bootlicking fanboys) need to know that if we fall, we all fall.

Fixing our problems here would be easier and cheaper than setting up a Mars colony. But space makes a great distraction and lets extravagantly wealthy dullards flatter themselves by playing cosmic explorer.
