We believe in the right to protest inequality and support the players’ movement to create a new platform for change. We also believe together, as Americans, we should honor our anthem. There is a way to do both. (2/3)

We will work with the players and league to find a positive way forward. Open to ideas from all. Except neo-nazis —
those guys. (3/3)Show this thread

What took so long for the "clarification"
-
When it became obvious our position wasn’t clear we decided to act. Sorry for the delay.
-
No, you decided to act in hopes of saving your failing brand. Won't help.

Subpar apology Subpar pizza Subpar humans
-
You know what the apology was late and they were wrong but you got to give them credit for stepping up and making the statement. Better late than never.
-
ummm no
-
Is Twitter the only place this apology is going to be shared? How about their FB, and news?
-
How about John makes a commercial and apologizes. Yeah, I don't that'll happen either.

I thought you were just repeating what Jerry Jones told you to say.
-
Absolutely not. When it became obvious our position wasn’t clear we decided to speak up.
-
You mean when you’re sales went down you back tracked your statement

You can tell
@PapaJohns founder didn't write any of that... Feel bad for whoever is trying to fix his past statements... -
John helped write and endorsed.

It's pretty clear sales will continue to plummet with a bigoted CEO at the helm. There are plenty of non-racist pizza places. Fire the CEO, if you want to raise sales.

"Thought they were divisive"? No, they were divisive. You called out NFL leadership for not exerting authority over grown men exercising their freedom of speech. You have that right too but now you know that words have consequences.
-
That’s not what we meant. We wanted the NFL to provide a solution the players, fans and league could agree to vs let the situation become a stalemate. A new platform to that moves the conversation forward. We will be working with players to try to find to find a new way.
-
Protest is not always comfortable or politically correct. Exactly the opposite. It should make people uncomfortable about an issue that needs to be addressed and changed.
-
Agreed. But at the moment it’s a stalemate. We hope we can help move the discussion forward.
-
IF you want to "help move the discussion forward", why aren't you addressing extrajudicial killings and other police abuse facing black people? That's actually what the "discussion" related to the NFL kneeling is about. You're just PR for your Trumpkin plastic surgery victim CEO.
