GAPDH is more than an enzyme in glycolysis, it inhibits intracellular pathways during starvation for cellular energy homeostasis. Another good reason not to use it as a reference gene or protein!

Great paper by and out in Nature Communications today on the metabolic rewiring of M1 macrophages by nitric oxide. Well worth a read!

Some hardcore from Cader et al in . Purine nucleoside enzyme FAMIN enables purine nucleotide cycle, balances the glycolysis-mitochondrial redox interface. Glycerol phosphate shuttle plays a role!

Cancer & activated T cells have metabolic similarities. This causes acidity in the cancer environment & nutrient competition that impairs T cell anti-cancer functions.

There are legitimate concerns about that must be taken seriously. Important too is every year millions die from mosquito borne diseases. More people are likely to die from , or seasonal flu. So let's hype-up too. Great work out of JA!

We are over the moon today to have 2 articles in on HIV/SIV latency reversal. Perturbing latency may be an important first step towards an cure. Very proud of the approach that got us to this point. 1/? &

Very excited to talk about our work on single cell metabolomics. Combining high dimensional flow with cytokine capture and phos-flow analysis in a single system for deep cellular characterization using a conventional flow⁦ cytometer. ⁦

Methods to study cellular metabolism at the single cell level are lacking. Check out this new method to simultaneously quantify metabolism and T cell phenotype.

It was a real pleasure collaborating with on this commentary. We both agree that this fantastic study underscores the role of immunometabolism in HIV and should inspire exciting studies that could help inform antiviral therapeutic approaches.
