1/ While I would agree that Altspace is not currently the open metaverse. We were headed towards a more open future.

2/ I think AFrame has a ways to go to reach feature parity and visual quality of a game engine like Unity.

We overestimate visual fidelity (see Minecraft, Rec Room) and underestimate what the Web can do today. Compelling interaction trumps visuals

the mindset is: "technographical progress aspires towards photorealism", which is amazingly persistent for being so historically wrong.

Only if they accept that they need to downsize massively. 37 employees is insane for what they're making and the current state of VR.

Agreed. They're a bit ahead of their time and definitely upscaled too quickly, but a modest reboot could prove successful in 2/3 years.

yes it is dear to our hearts that Altspace should not go but be alive I have meet great people in AltspaceVR that I am from another country
