Fellow Canadians shut the actual fuck up A white man murdered dozens of people in my fucking backyard early last year and he was able to do that because of RCMP negligence and white supremacy. This shit happens in Canada, stop turning a blind eye.
White Supremacy is WELL AND ALIVE in Canada, Mi’kmaq people were targetted and threatened last year by white fishermen. Canada had Residential Schools up until the late 1990’s. We enslaved Japanese people in camps- we are not as “pure and peaceful” as you think.
At this point so many Canadians use our polite stereotypes as an excuse to be ignorant and it's frustrating. I certainly don't know everything but I'm not going to defend this country as if we don't have our own evils we have and STILL enact. Tired of it man.

Learning about residential schools in history class fucked me up but I never knew how recent it was until a native coworker mentioned her uncle having been in one. It’s gross people pretend like it’s something way in the past.
Along w the other shit too ofc but that in particular has stuck with me purely bc of how it was initially presented to me as some ancient shit like there aren’t people alive still affected by it.
