4/ I grew up in a world where the Soviet side wasn’t yet clear so all I had were my intuitions. In the mid ‘90s, my intuitions were confirmed that Julius was a ring leader and traitor. Ethel wasn’t totally clean IMO, but a minor figure & executing two parents was unconscionable.

5/ My point here is that often you don’t have a ‘take’ on a topic like “the Rosenbergs” because you‘re breaking the topic into components. That’s how I feel about
@IlhanMN for example. I don’t have a single take. I feel differently on BDS v El Mozote: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Mozote_massacre …5 replies 12 retweets 159 likesShow this thread -
6/ I am for and against Hijab as it is not one thing. I am for and against freedom for “hate speech”. I support
@aoc’s courage on campaign finance, and can’t stand the authoritarianism. And on&on. This gets exhausting. So I don’t weigh in the way people who are on one team do.9 replies 30 retweets 474 likesShow this thread -
End/ So I don’t know where I am yet on all of this
@ggreenwald. I’m pretty sure we are moving to normalize anti-semitism through clear support for BDS in the Democratic Party, but not yet 100% positive & I’m not done fighting. But I’m not cowering or silent. I’m right here Glenn.99 replies 33 retweets 727 likesShow this thread -

I'd be happy to talk about this in a more constructive format than Twitter.https://twitter.com/ZaidJilani/status/1095018688095420416 …

Zaid Jilani @ZaidJilaniMy friend@lwoodhouse and I are sick of political tribalism getting in the way of good political discussions. That's why today we're launching a new podcast: Extremely Offline. We're going to have tough but respectful conversations across our tribes. https://www.buzzsprout.com/255935/952371-inaugural-episode-briahna-joy-gray-and-coleman-hughes-discuss-what-we-get-wrong-about-race-in-america …Show this thread18 replies 18 retweets 276 likes -

I might be as well (with some ground rules). But I responded to you on Twitter Glenn because you picked this format to get in a dig. I’d like you to not trash me directly or via the IDW here. Even here I was *constructive* & respectful despite how you’ve treated my friends. Fair?

And Glenn, thanks for engaging. I’ve had a pretty dim view of some of the ways you treated
@SamHarrisOrg in particular. But other things you have done have been quite impressive. I would love to find out if we could work through something here. The dichotomy leaves me bewildered.6 replies 8 retweets 142 likes -

This ponderous, evasive thread doesn't address what is being alleged, which is that the "IDW" types have carved out a giant Israel-sized exception in their critique of outrage culture -- indicating that the critique was hollow to begin with.

Excuse me. Do we know each other? Did I back over your dog...or is this the way you normally open conversation with strangers on difficult topics as an objective journalist? Forgive me, but it does say “Journalist” in your bio. Do you subscribe to the journalist code of ethics?

You didn’t back over his dog. What you did was far more important. You showed the world that merely acknowledging contradictions and double standards is not permitted when a “certain specific subject” is brought up in conversation. Thank you
