If metals are extracted from ground that has been given legal personality (LP) and those metals are made into nuts, bolts, screws, do those nuts, bolts, screws also have LP? If yes, and some of those nuts, bolts, screws are in a robot, do parts of the robot have LP?

The answer to all these Qs is no, unless the law (legislature) decides otherwise. The more interesting question is whether that would solve any problem. See eghttps://lawforcomputerscientists.pubpub.org/pub/4swyxhx5

The question is not about giving "rights" to autonomous artificial artifact. The real issue is how do we protect *our* (humans!) rights when these autonomous artifacts take a decision of their own.

One of the problems (or opportunities) with Twitter is the fact that individual users can introduce hard forks and branch off from the "original direction" of a thread. It is not I who introduced the legal questions; I simply responded to those who did.

The whole legal / corporate / organisational dimension - either as a whole second paper or maybe greater ref in the original (both mentioned in this part of the thread):https://twitter.com/theblub/status/1223675378360819714?s=19 …

I'm not an academic with a motive you presume not to agree with or feel necessary to slight. For me, Twitter has provided a new way of finding people sharing their diverse understanding and experience of the world - in spite of much behaviour here going in the opposite direction.

For me, personally, there came a moment in my life where I felt considerations of animal welfare or rights had to precede some human welfare or rights. (After all, we are animals.) So for me (earlier in this discussion), this wasn't "whataboutism":https://twitter.com/theblub/status/1219288259563487232?s=19 …

It is a rhetorical 3d category to make it seem as if there are no strict ontological boundaries between human and robot. There are.1 reply 0 proslijeđenih tweetova 0 korisnika označava da im se sviđa -
Odgovor korisnicima @PabloRedux @theblub i sljedećem broju korisnika:
I can't "bracket" things in the same way you do, or find the kinds of bracketings you attempted in your paper (and here) entirely satisfactory, as I have my own questions. Don't promote academic pre-prints on Twitter if you don't want to involve others from their perspectives.
