BUT, while I did dig a lot of that material, it's the Neo/Trinity relationship that's the beating heart of the movie. And the connection between the two is still mighty powerful!

Also feels necessary to recommend a trilogy rewatch before checking this out. There's just SO many details one might risk missing without one. And admittedly, I think there's still a lot I didn't fully digest in one viewing of film 4 -- even WITH my rewatch of 1, 2 and 3.

I recently watched the first 2 movies. I think they have a lot to say about what it means to be human. How we define ourselves through struggle and adversity. How maybe humans are won't be happy with a utopia, we do best with an obstacle and problem to overcome together.
