Honorifics are really hard with gender neutral, I try to use like please or thank you instead like instead of yes sir I say yes thank you I wish it were better tbh

Yeah I work in customer service so I try and be as nice and respectful as possible I just wish there was a gender neutral versions cuz I live in rural Texas and they are a big fan of being called sir/mam

buddy, pal, friend, etc if you mean specifically mean responses i always say shit like "sure thing, got it, mhm," etc
