Regardless if they are “just jokes” the content of them is very negative and regressive, saying it’s just a joke makes no sense, it’s the same thing with rape jokes and things of that nature. The concept and bigotry is still there

It’s even worse if they are jokes because you are now using these concepts as humor and saying they are something funny rather than something serious

The concept of homophobia is funny because it makes no sense, that's where the jokes come from

But it’s still a very real thing, regardless how much sense it makes, making it a joke is still regressive

Why not instead, just make different jokes that don’t include things like that, is it so hard just not to

Because we can't just completely avoid saying things ultimately harmless because they might offend
