    Meet Bella! As of Term 4 Bella will be visiting as our therapy dog. Bella will only meet students who want to spend time with her and she is a hypoallergenic breed. Bella will add to our trauma-informed approach & help students build resilience and relationships! 🦮

    Great to see Cyan, a Yr11 from last year who came back to thank staff for all their support! Cyan is doing brilliantly at college after gaining excellent GCSE results. It's great when students return, they're always welcome as part of our school community

    As part of our emotional regulation curriculum this week, students looked at habit forming & both adaptive/maladaptive coping strategies to adversity. We then chose to implement a good habit & train our brain as a new year resolution 🧠

    Our KS3 students demonstrated the value of as they visited the Caring @ Christmas Night Shelter in St. Paul’s to drop off donations. We were overwhelmed by the support & generosity of PLC staff, students, families & the wider community. Both cars were full!

    Naturally, our British Value this month is democracy & students are looking at the manifestos of each of the main political party. Our current 'act of citizenship' is to promote the work of & gather donations for the homeless at Christmas 🎄

    Awesome to see Sophie yesterday! When Sophie first started in 2014, she found it difficult leaving the car & in 2017 she left with excellent GCSE results! She now has a great career in catering & shared the message that “If I can do it, anyone can!”

    On Wednesday 18th December will be supporting the Xmas Jumper Day 2019 as part of our whole school Xmas dinner event. This is a great day to come together as a school community and celebrate the festive season.

    Our Food & Nutrition curriculum has a clear intent on promoting healthy eating and independence, as well as exploring new diets. Olivia was able to demonstrate some great relationship work by cooking a gluten-free, vegan pancake for her friends 16th birthday! 👩‍🍳
