    to Fr. Armand Maurer, CSB in Florence, Italy. In 1949 Fr. Maurer was appointed as a fellow of the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies. He was the recipient of many awards, and published dozens of articles and books on medieval philosophy.
