The BMI system doesn't tell you the whole picture. It doesn't take into account muscle mass for a start. Or metabolic disorders, or any kind of disability/health condition.

BMI has me as obese, I weight train 6 days a week.

If you want to actually encourage ppl to live healthier lives give out fruit & veg vouchers like the gov does for some very young children. Those suffering financially have to choose between eating healthier food & keeping the heating on. Guess which one they’re gonna pick.

I have a BMI of 31. I'm an MSK physiotherapist. I get told I'm obese, I'm a weightlifter. BMI is junk and we all know it. Lets start dealing with the real issue of inactivity without terrible outcome measures, else Tories will decide food poverty is great for obesity stats.

BMI is not perfect, but for the majority (so not yourself or others with plenty of muscle) it is as good an indicator as any. Inactivity is an issue, as are large meal sizes, snack foods, sugary drinks etc. Biggy (my view) is supportive education.
