At , we'd ask Bitcoiners to consider network privacy - the p2p gossip protocol of Bitcoin offers no privacy no matter what happens on chain. Cypherpunks and academics have been suggesting mix-nets can fix this since the 1990s. In 2020, MAKE PRIVACY GREAT AGAIN.

My analysis of privacy/security vulnerability in Intelligent Tracking Prevention. Such bugs in privacy-enhancing features are highly counter-intuitive. Very interesting privacy engineering case study! I post some details.

If you want to read about the outstanding work done to understand how dating apps share intimate details with third parties, I highly recommend this thread as having the highlights and the pointers:

Happy to announce that this spring I'll be joining the new Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy (). The institute has more positions to fill though, so if you're looking for an internationally-oriented place with great research conditions: apply!

I promised more thoughts TK, so here they are. Consumer reviews should be about more than whether a product is good for the individual. Reviewers should also care whether they're corrosive to society. My story:

Disqus is installed on thousands of websites and claims to sell data on 2 billion people, linked to 215m email addresses and hundreds of attributes per user. Now the company, including its parent Zeta Global, is in serious GDPR trouble. Great investigation from Norway, thread:

Almost 2 years later, here we are. Thanks a *lot* to the reviewers at PETS who recognized the value of this work and accepted our paper. For grunge work like this, where you don't necessarily get the internal pleasure of proving new things, external validation means a lot ♥
