It actually makes sense. It would likely be programmed for you to press a certain button in a certain situation and if you press it, it can complete the command faster. But if you don't actually press anything, nothing is going to happen, because it isn't playing for you.

Every time Google says something new about Stadia there's a part of me that thinks technology is amazing. A much larger part of me thinks Stadia will not be one of those times when something that sounds completely ludicrous turns out to work after all.

What's actually going to happen: it won't outperform local hardware, but they'll SAY it does. People who point out that it doesn't will be accused of being trolls who hate change. This will be bolstered by casuals who wouldn't know what input lag is if you paid them to learn.
