I get stopped sometimes in Japan, bags checked, questioned about where I got my bike. I was upset the first time. Then I felt embarrassed for being upset, thinking about how it's nothing compared to the difficult, painful, and often deadly world minorities live through back home.

My friend spoke up about his black co-worker and how he had to drive so far from Compton at 17, to move to Canada. Long story short, he was homeless, worked his ass off at a job, and got married with kids. I didn't think racism kept going ever since...but I pray for y'all
