(Smash) Twitter: negative takes are hip, positive ones kinda lame. easier to gain interactions w the former; the latter can come off disingenuous people thumbing through timelines get depressed, feeling like they are part of the negativity. growth in IRL positity stunted sad!

it's a bigger problem beyond social media too, but the real issue is how much weight Twitter carries for people's day to day emotional support. so anything positive ends up in the "not worth it" pile while people try to come up w a funny meme at something / someone elses expense
