Maybe I’m just googling wrong... can you connect two switches without WiFi? (Meaning I wanted to play smash with someone, and we both have the game, can we just connect by being in the same room?)

Why aren’t more tournies doing this? Like if all else fails kinda deal. I get the reason would be joy con vs. gc but at least the tourney would run smoothly
The reason why more tournaments dont do is a few reason. Sometimes it lags because of interference, hand held smash sucks, and better options.

Totally get those reasons are valid! I was just thinking us all. I was at a coffee shop with my switch (handheld smash) and was like dang this would be fun to meet up with people.

Other thing is that I saw there was a local that was just straight up struggling and the base line problem was no set ups.
