I actually posted about this on my own twitter, this makes no sense logically as a video capture solution.
Being able to capture from this is easier since you wont need the dock at all and it's very convenient imo. That's why this is a thing

Well when recording in this mode, you're losing quality from the game, and recording at a lower resolution and framerate, not to mention other capture cards like an Elgato are 100$ cheaper than this and wont risk a cheat detector going off when going online.
