    Did you know that metallic foil balloons are a major cause of power outages? They can create an electric surge & outage when contacting wires. This happened Sunday & ~2500 Palo Altans lost power. It can be dangerous & cause fires or property damage. Pls hold on to those balloons!

    Power in the Barron Park & surrounding area was restored around 3 pm today. Outage was caused by a Mylar balloon in the wires.

    There is a current power outage for ~2500 customers in the Barron Park & surrounding areas. Cause most likely due to a mylar balloon in the wires. Crews in route to restore; estimated restoration in a couple of hours. Check for real time updates.

    CPAU is receiving reports of scam calls. Scammers may pose as CPAU or PG&E, say your account is overdue & threaten to turn off power if payment is not provided immediately. We don't do business this way! If you suspect something fishy, hang up & contact us to speak with a Rep.

    Power should be restored for all customers now. Crew found a tree branch in the wires pointing to the cause of the outage. Thx again all for your messages & updates. Appreciate the crew working to restore service as quickly as possible.

    Power should hopefully be restored in about 20 minutes for at least 75% of customers affected by outage. Outage is currently being attributed to tree branch falling on power lines due to rain & wind conditions in storm. Thx for patience as crew worked to restore service!
