Your Monday reminder that ‘gender is socially constructed’ doesn’t mean ‘I made up gender in my head woo so fun’. It means that gender is a taxonomy of social statuses that we occupy, often through force or coercion, in rare moments by choice, and usually somewhere in between.

Breaking news! The semicolon (this dude --> ";") seems to have avoided extinction. After 200 years of shrinking herd sizes, conservation efforts started to pay off in 2013 when numbers started to recover. Tears of joy! Source:

Fantasy writers: how you talk about evil in your world matters. Look for racially charged language. Especially if you were weaned on Tolkien and Lewis. It’s everywhere but (we) white writers are often completely unaware due to our privilege. It’s not okay. Do the work.

Remember when a British nazi was allowed on a political debate show on TV and he was completely eviscerated live? It led to that nazi groups largest surge of recruitment in their history. Stop. Debating. Them.

Actual reminder that we made all of Dublin transport free for people visiting the Pope for some reason. Not when Pride is on. Not when there's All Ireland finals. Or massive gigs in venues. The Pope. Free transport could be done.

  16. Ireland now has 2nd highest vaccine uptake in the EU after Iceland - which is as you'd expect from the EU vaccine hesitancy surgery in March. Pushing it higher to reduce that potential 9k hospitalisations of unvaccinated further is what may keep us out of lockdowns /7

I haven't yet seen anyone state the obvious about , that it's not going to end with Teela becoming the "new He-Man," but becoming the new Sorceress.

Also imagine if we'd had all the build up, waiting for "By the power of Greyskull", and *that* moment was the first time we heard it.

    >>(or if the original Rob David concept had been continued). The cliffhanger has me honestly into Part 2. Kevin Smith has no sense of story pacing. It says a lot that the weakest episode is the one he wrote.
