Don't know much about insurance, do you? If you remove all of the healthy people from the pool, price goes up. Price goes up, more people can't afford it. Congress did nothing to fix the problem, but taking the Mandate away will begin to cripple those of us who depend on markets.

There's no way you paid a LOT more for a LOT less. What you had was not comprehensive insurance. And you didn't have protections for pre-existing conditions, you had lifetime caps, and you probably had a lot of clauses that were anti-consumer.

Before the ACA, the health insurance industry was rigged against the consumer, and had ways of making you think you had more than you do.

But perhaps you are missing my point: these people don't care about you. They care about what is politically viable. There is no excuse for intentionally destabilizing health insurance markets without having a solution.
