    After many efforts, they managed to get the Constitutional Court to rule in favor of removing abortion as a crime in the Penal Code until the 24th week. Thus, Colombia became the LAC country with the longest deadline to guarantee the reproductive rights of women & pregnant ppl.

    They have worked to: 💜 eliminate stigma and discrimination against women who have abortions, and 💜help more ppl understand the negative impact of criminalization of abortion on women living in poverty & other vulnerable groups such as adolescents, rural and migrant women.

    Causa Justa is a movement made up of more than 1⃣0⃣0⃣ civil society orgs & thousands of feminist activists in the country. They came together 2 yrs ago with a class action (or collective demand), and since then they have carried out multiple actions of influence and awareness.

    Even in the gloom, 2022 has also brought some good news. Until 21 Feb in Colombia it was a crime to have an abortion outside of 3 special grounds. Today, Colombian women enjoy greater freedom thanks to the work carried out by (Fair Cause)
