Like most people, I didn't realise that the painting was behind glass.
No painting was damaged in the making of this protest!

It was an effective stunt I think. Sad though that the unintended consequence is that likely more great works will now have to be behind glass which diminishes them significantly.

This doesn't really change my view and, of course, the painting was behind glass. :-)
As others have said, if a protest shared on social media in this way is completely lost in translation and requires interviews like this to clarify then, well, it's a bad protest. And it was.
