I've always found this humanisation of animals very peculiar. Whilst not eating meat is totally fine, stories of pigs enjoying wind or cows whispering goodbye to their friends or salmon crying at the loss of their babies is just absurd and unscientific.

It's not humanisation, it's acknowledging them as living beings that feel pain and pleasure. I don't think it's weird to think a pig would enjoy the breeze on its face when it's crammed into a truck.

It was Okja that changed my husband’s mind, after living with me (a veggie) for 20 years. Thank you Jon!

But cows and chickens are fine? Ditch it all dude!

There's zero way for a human to live with no impact whatsoever on animal life of some form. Everyone has a different place they draw their line based on morals, practicalities and other concerns (environmental etc). I don't think people should be harrassed to move their own lines

I thought so too, before I realised that I can eat dead tasty food that wasn't going to cause unnecessary harm on another being, on myself or on the environment. Now I eat seitan 'bacon' and it's fantastic!
