Public schooling is a necessary feature of universal suffrage. The egalitarian fiction of universal collective agency exercised at the ballot box requires a fiction of effective universal education to avoid collapsing into obvious absurdity.

Public schools have failed. I can't hire a high school grad as they don't have basic skills. They can't pass the equivalency exam in CA but they graduate anyway. Let's be honest and call public schools whay they really are daycare indoctrination centers.

It's not just the public schools. Massive indoctrination happens within the private schools, too. Believe me, I experienced the horror of it.
